Xinomavro "Skyphos" 2020
100% Xinomavro grapes from limestone soils in the Macedonia region (northern Greece). Grapes are macerated for 18 days and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 1-2 months with indigenous yeasts. It undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages in 500-liter old oak barrels for four months before bottling without fining or filtration.
Characteristics
Aromas of fresh black and red fruits with elegant herbaceous characteristics. The palate is dry with refreshing acidity and round tannic structure. The aftertaste is long and complex. Xinomavro can be compared to Pinot Noir (for its finesse) or Nebbiolo (for its powerful tannins & ability to age).
